I just received the newest issue of ONE MAGAZINE in the mail and was stoked on the new XSJADO (pronounced SHADOW) add. The advertisement is a shot of Chris Farmer fastsliding a wall rail with type hyping up the release of the first Xsjado video.
I was just daydreaming about what the video would be like and I came up with a quick list of song choices for each segment.
I know that you are not supposed to use copyrighted music these days, but in a perfect world this would be the soundtrack for the XSJ video.
INTRO – I was thinking of something rockin’ with punch. How about this?
JC ROWE - With the release of his new, Jordan inspired skate, JC needs to be a hip hop section. Something classic, oldschool.
VICTOR GARCIA – This may be Vic’s first major section (I could be wrong about this) and he has a 90′s hippy vibe going so I went back in the vaults for this one.
MIKE OBEDOZA – Obe’s got soul, so I thought he could paired up with this jam. Very reminiscent of Nick Poderik’s section in one nation.
MARCUS BENAVIDES- MB is the style master. He get’s one of my favorite songs of all time.
KEVIN YEE – Yee is a creative guy with twisted little grindtricks. I thought he should get a new school LA beat song, like Flying Lotus-ish. Clams Casino has some tracks that are heavy in the lightest scence of the term.
JEFF STOCKWELL – Jeff is a classic rock kinda guy, I thought this would work nicely for him.
CHRIS FARMER - The dark lord needs something intense. This is the perfect jam for him to destroy.
CREDITS – After all that mayhem you need a mellow song to go out on. This is one of the best. A real period at the end of the sentence.
In all reality, music choices are the last thing to worry about with a video of this magnitude. I have to say though, music can really make or break a videos vibe and overall bodaciousness. The skating in the XSJ vid should be second to none, and that’s really what matters. Keep your eyes peeled to Xsjado.com for updates about when that bad boy is gonna drop.
